Karen Blixen's People
Verdenspremiere
ACT (Afro-Cosmopolite Thespians)
Karen Blixen’s People’ will, for the first time, give us a glimpse into how she related to ‘her people’- as they seemed to be referred to from accounts of descendants of her workers. The play deviates from the oft-repeated ‘romanticism’ of Karen Blixen’s life in Kenya. The play gives us a human side to the happenings of the time at her house on the farm.
The play will also give us a peep-hole into the very few European friends that Karen had- and interestingly, these Europeans were, in a way, ‘lost and lonely’ spirits very much like Karen Blixen herself. The actors in this play will be from Kenya and Denmark- a real and true co-production between these two countries.
